Jabalpur Division – Geographical Centre of India, Cultural Capital of Madhya Pradesh

Jabalpur is often called the cultural capital of the State of Madhya Pradesh. The geographical centre of India is located just 30 kilometers from Jabalpur. 
Many culture-connoisseurs have had long terms association with Jabalpur. It is the birth place of Acharya Rajneesh (Osho), Rehman, Pritish Nandy, Roopkumar Soni, Subhadrakumari Chauhan, Prem Nath, Raghuvir Yadav, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, the internationally recognized artist-painter Beohar Rammanohar Sinha, who designed and decorated the original Constitution of India.

Jabalpur is known for its picturesque marble rock formations at Bhedaghat across the banks of the river Narmada.

The Kanha national Park which is known for the largest sanctuary of tigers in India is also situated close to Jabalpur.

Jabalpur is also the army headquarters of five states (Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Orissa, Bihar and Jharkhand). The largest arms & ammunition factory “The Gun Carriage factory” is also in Jabalpur.
The Jabalpur Division Cricket Association came into existence in the year 1955.
